Trawlerman - 12.55 Ascot
Simply the best stayer in training at the minute and won the Gold Cup at the Royal Meeting in strong fashion before dispatching Sweet William again in the Lonsdale Cup. Heads the better for this at a short price but has been kept fresh for this meeting and should be hard to beat again.
Words Of Truth - 1.30 Ascot
It’s hard not to fancy the chances of Words Of Truth for this new addition to Champions’ Day for the juveniles. Already a course and distance winner and a Group Two winner he’s going to be hard to beat at the top of the market.
Piazza San Marco - 3.15 Leopardstown
Looked a bit raw on debut and failed to really land a blow but took a big step forward when next seen at Galway winning in impressive fashion, drawing right away from his rivals on soft ground over 8.5 furlongs. Relishing the stamina test. Looks the pick of the form and will enjoy this 9 furlong trip.
Ballykinlar - 3.30 Limerick
Has won a few times over hurdles and looks at his best over 2.5 miles. Notably when coming 3rd behind the decent looking Kainsbourg who ran well in the Persian War at Chepstow recently. Holds his nearest market rival on that form and is top rated for this weak looking listed contest. Should be hard to beat.
Ombudsman - 4.05 Ascot
An impressive winner of the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at the Royal Meeting, he was then chinned on the line by Delacroix in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, likely hitting the front too soon. A pacemaker at York helped him bolt up in the Juddmonte International and similar tactics will be applied here. Top rated in the field and can confirm his dominance in the 10 furlong ranks again.
Boosted from 40/1 to 45/1 with Midnite.
