A winner of a good Maiden first time out, Dark Thirty then ran in the Chesham, and finished 5th of 13, behind a few of these.

He then improved and ran a good third in the Superlative Stakes at Newmarket behind Isaac Shelby and Victory Dance.

He was hampered inside the final furlong, but I don't think that affected his finishing position. Dark Thirty is a solid horse who will certainly run his race.

Eyecatcher on debut at Goodwood when running 5th after a poor start behind winner Royal Scotsman. He again ran at Goodwood and won a 4 runner maiden comfortably.

His form probably isn't up to much so far, but he's full of potential and he runs here for the third time now, so track experience could enhance his chances.

3rd on the first day of the season in the Brocklesby behind Persian Force. Jiffy Boy then won a Leicester maiden in good style.

Again, the level of his form can be questioned but he's now ran two solid races and deserves his place in the line up.

Third on debut at Newbury behind two good horses, (Dark Thirty and Mysterious Night), and he was unlucky in the run and ran on well towards the end.

He then won his next two, at Nottingham (impressively) and Salisbury (workmanlike). He's done nothing wrong in his career thus far, and he's well bred - one of the more likely winners.

Mysterious Night

Failed by a nose to beat Dark Thirty on debut, Mysterious Night then confirmed his abundance of promise by winning what looked a good novice event at Newbury next time out.

Mysterious Night then ran a solid third in the July Stakes behind Persian Force, finishing the race off well, suggesting this extra furlong should suit.

He's well bred and goes for a top team - good chance.

Franny Norton

Dear My Friend

J: Franny Norton
T: Charlie & Mark Johnston

Age: 2
Weight: 9-3
OR: 95
Days: 42

Unbeaten in two novices' Dear My Friend particularly impressed last time out - winning by 5L from the front over 7 and a half furlongs.

He proved he stays well there and he has a high cruising speed. The depth of form is probably short on balance here, but he definitely still has scope to improve for a trainer who does extremely well at this meeting.

Ulysess colt who shocked many when taking the Chesham, on debut at odds of 40/1. That was his first run, and he won quite easily against horses who had ran to a high level prior. The form has taken a few knocks though, so he'll have to prove it wasn't a fluke.

Fascinating contender.

Another one for Charlie and Mark Johnston, Dornoch Castle, like Dear My Friend is 2/2 in novice events. He won by 3L on debut at Haydock, and the field were nicely strung out. He won at Ayr on his second start and it looked a polished performance.

He's a 2yo that clearly knows his job, he's hard to rule out.

Dandy Man Shines

Third of six on his only start to date, this son of Dandy Man (who'd have guessed?), will have every opportunity to step forward.

His run at Pontefract appeared littered with promise, and he should be able to build on that. However, the form standard set here is much greater than the level he's run to so far, so he must improve.
