Garrus

J: Ryan Moore
T: Charles Hills
N/A
Age: 7
Weight: 9-5
OR: 113
Days: 37

Charles Hills sends one runner to this Curragh event in the form of Garrus. The seven-year-old recorded his career-best victory last month in the Group Three Abernant Stakes at Newmarket, holding off Commanche Falls by a head after finishing 17th in the Champions Sprint at Ascot to round off 2022. This Acclamation gelding has big runs in him and has consistently ran at this sort of level for a few years now.

Garrus has good experience at this level and after winning that group three last month, will be looking to go one further here for Hills. Ryan Moore is booked to ride, and he has every chance.

Oisin Murphy

Art Power

J: Oisin Murphy
T: Tim Easterby
N/A
Age: 6
Weight: 9-5
OR: 109
Days: 10

Tim Easterby sends one runner to the Greenlands Stakes at Curragh on Saturday, with six-year-old, Art Power. The gelding is a C&D winner who has been slightly out of form for a little while since winning Group Three Renaissance Stakes here back in September last year. He’s won that race for two seasons running but has finished outside the top two on every occasion since, including an eighth-place finish last time out in Group Two Duke Of York Clipper Stakes earlier this month.

The gelding usually goes well here and despite that patchy run of form, it would be a surprise if he didn’t bounce back to a better run here. Oisin Murphy is booked to ride.

Big Gossey

J: Danny Sheehy
T: Charles O'Brien
N/A
Age: 6
Weight: 9-5
OR: 98

Charles O’Brien sends one to the Greenlands Stake in the form of his 98-rated gelding Big Gossey. The six-year-old arrives at Curragh on an indifferent run of form since winning nine-runner handicap here last August. He has finished inside the top three of races on only one occasion since while running in this sort of company at the likes of Curragh and Naas and is one of the least fancied to win here.

The gelding has an uphill task and others make more appeal on form. Danny Sheehy is booked to ride.

Jamie Spencer

Coachello

J: Jamie Spencer
T: Gordon Elliott
N/A
Age: 5
Weight: 9-5
OR: 105
Days: 33

Gordon Elliott boasts one runner in this year’s Group Two Greenlands Stakes with Coachello. The five-year-old last claimed victory at Meydan in January, winning the Dubai Sprint Listed Stakes by just under a length to favourite Man Of Promise and also finished third last time out in the Listed Woodlands Stakes at Naas last month behind Tenebrism and fellow runner Moss Tucker.

The five-year-old has more to find in this company but on the back of that Meydan success and good run at Naas he is not completely out of the picture. Jamie Spencer is booked to ride.

Ben Coen

Ano Syra

J: Ben Coen
T: John James Feane
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 9-2
OR: 102
Days: 244

John Feane has one horse in the Greenlands Stakes at Curragh on Saturday with Ano Syra. The four-year-old has won four races in her career at Dundalk, Naas and here at Curragh twice and hasn’t performed too badly in better company since, finishing in the top four on all four occasions. That includes a second-place finish in a group three here and fourth on three occasions at Naas, Curragh and Tipperary.

She’s probably an unlikely winner of this and hoping for a place is the most she can ask for, which she is capable of. Ben Coen is booked to ride.

Age: 5
Weight: 9-5

Ken Condon boasts one in this contest at Curragh on Saturday with his five-year-old Moss Tucker. He’s an experienced runner with six wins in his career, most recently winning a listed stakes event here in October last year by just under four lengths to Big Gossey. Has since been in decent nick, winning Naas listed event as well as finishing runner-up last time out at Naas again earlier this month.

He should be there or thereabouts towards the end of this one in the hands of Willam Lee.

Twilight Jet

J: Colin Keane
T: M D O'Callaghan
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 9-5
OR: 112
Days: 322

Michael O’Callaghan sends his four-year-old Twilight Jet to the Greenlands Stakes at Curragh on Saturday with the colt making his first appearance of 2023. The four-year-old usually goes well fresh and he will need to here, having won once in 2022 in group three event at Naas last May but he tailed off towards the end of the year with a last of 20 finish and a last of 13 finish at Royal Ascot and Newmarket respectively.

The drop down to this company will help and as mentioned, he goes well fresh, so he is certainly one to consider.

Andrew Slattery

My Eyes Adore You

J: Andrew Slattery
T: J A Stack
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 9-2
OR: 99
Days: 49

James Stack boasts one runner in the Greenlands Stakes at Curragh on Saturday with his filly My Eyes Adore You. The four-year-old has won only once in her career so far, winning a 15-runner maiden here back in May last year by a neck to Aratori but has been inconsistent since as well as failing to make her mark at this sort of level. She further proved that by finishing eighth in Listed Cork Stakes won by Tenebrism last month.

Much more to find in this company if she is to make a case for victory. Andrew Slattery is booked to ride.
