Serenading

Age: 6
Weight: 9-5

Days: 18

Winless since November last year. Serenading is a seasoned handicapper, but connections have turned to trying to get some valuable black-type to her name.

She has been in a couple of competitive races recently, and she again looks out of her depth here against genuine group performers.

Upped in class again, same result?

Ran a good race here when fourth in the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. This Gleneagles filly has bits and pieces of very good form to her name, but she does often find one or two too good.

She’ll have to build on her Ascot effort to win, but she’s better form than most.

Romantic Rival

J: Jamie Spencer
T: George Boughey
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 9-5
OR: 89
Days: 52

A winner last time out, Romantic Rival won a class 4 fillies handicap at Kempton off a mark of 85. She has subsequently been raised 4lb in the handicap, but her rating puts her miles off some of her competition here. As mentioned, she did win last time out but she also only won by a nose.

She is unexposed in this country but she’s some way off the standard set at this moment in time. Opposable.

Oscula

J: William Buick
T: George Boughey
N/A
Age: 3
Weight: 8-11
OR: 103
Days: 14

Very solid Galileo Gold filly, Oscula has been busy in her career to date. She’s ran 15 times and she’s only just three. She’s ran to a high level all year, however, there’s a sneaky suspicion that she’s probably just short of group company.

She runs well very often though, so you’d be brave to dismiss her entirely.

She looked progressive at Musselburgh in the Maggie Dickson (Listed) when making all and winning by 2L from decent horses.

However, she took a backwards step last time out, she didn’t settle, and she was beaten by a few of these.

Work to do to reverse the form.

Jumbly

J: Hollie Doyle
T: Harry & Roger Charlton
N/A
Age: 3
Weight: 8-11
OR: 105
Days: 41

Very progressive as a 2y/o last year, Jumbly has been running moderately well this year.

She ran a cracking second in the Fred Darling behind Wild Beauty first time out, then she was involved in a bunch finish in the French 1000 Guineas. She took on the German 1000 Guineas last time out and ran moderately.

Being on home soil is a likely positive, and she’s still unexposed. Chance.

Winless since her debut last August, though that doesn’t entirely tell the story. Last time out she was third in a listed race at Carlisle, behind Oscula.

She has been running consistently enough, and she’s not been disgraced when upped in class. She is up in class again here, and she does have a good bit to find still.

A filly with just the four runs to her name, she has some of the strongest form too. Her second last time out in the Sandringham reads extremely well, and she was relatively unlucky in running too.

She’s still so unexposed, and she does look like she has a touch of class.

Better chance on balance than most appear to have.

Kind Gesture

J: Andrea Atzeni
T: Roger Varian
N/A
Age: 3
Weight: 8-11
OR: 92
Days: 27

Three runs, two wins. Kind Gesture absolutely bolted up in a novice last time out, winning by 10L.

That’s given her an official rating of 92, which puts her some way off the benchmark here, but she’s clearly a filly of real promise and judged on her last performance, she could be anything.

She’s hard to assess as all of her form comes from weak novices’, but you couldn’t not be impressed last time out.
