Group One Prix Rothschild Sunday Preview

Selection - Watch Me

The feature race on Sunday sees us head over to France for the Prix Rothschild that in the past has been won by the likes of Goldikova, Roly Poly and Laurens.

The Group One event sees seven go to post to take on a mile at Deauville and with some smart runners, including some British and Irish raiders heading to post we have a keen fancy.

We are sticking with the home runner and the Francis-Henri Graffard four year old Watch Me seems to offer the best form heading into the event.

The filly last term managed to give a career best performance at Royal Ascot to land the Group One Coronation Cup over a mile and from that placed in the Prix de l'Opera at the Arc meeting.

She came back this season for her seasonal debut over course and distance at Deauville and won a four year old event nicely.

That run will set her up perfectly for this Group One getting her fit and ready to take on her toughest test of the season and if retaining her three year old form, looks the one to beat.

Ones To Watch

Although we have a strong selection in the event it may be worth watching some of these horses, especially the British and Irish raiders.

Summer Romance for Charlie Appleby heads into the event off the back of a nice win at Epsom on Derby Day, when landing the Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes.

There were some very progress runners in the field that day and she pulled away from the field with ease which would suggest she will come on again.

Know It All for Johnny Murtagh is another classy type that has shown plenty of ability on both her runs this season, finishing second in a Group Three at Leopardstown on her seasonal reappearance behind a nice Aidan O'Brien runner.

She came on for that run and stepped up a furlong to a mile in the Derrinstown Stud Fillies Group Three at Leopardstown again and got off the mark for the season.

That looks decent form and is another who can't be discounted.
