The Grade One Champion Chase is the feature on Day Two of the Cheltenham Festival, with many considering it to be a penalty kick for red-hot favourite Majborough.

The Willie Mullins star was scintillating in first-time headgear at the Dublin Racing Festival last month, beating last year’s Champion Chase winner, Marine Nationale, by 19 lengths. Mullins has trained the winner of two of the last four editions of the race, and Majborough gives the Irish maestro an excellent chance to improve on that record.
The six-year-old already has Festival form to his name, landing a red-hot Grade One Triumph Hurdle in 2024, beating Kargese by over a length. His biggest disappointment to date came at the Festival last year, but despite jumping poorly, he still finished ahead of chief market rival L’Eau du Sud.
