Spadestep 5/6 - Won a novice hurdle at Hexham in good style before being immediately sent chasing at Aintree last time out, just being collared late from the front by a rival that nearly backed up last time out, falling at the last. Will likely rate better than 116 over fences and should get off the mark at the second time of asking in this sphere.
Aire Spray 5/1 - Won two handicap hurdles last season before feeling the grip of the handicapper. Has eased back down to a lenient looking mark now and will strip fitter for a recent return at Carlisle over an inadequate 2 miles. Should go closer now rated 9 and back up in trip.
Chelmsford:
Tam Lin 9/2 - Looks a live contender thanks to his recent 3rd over a mile at Southwell, showing he’s fit and in form. The slight drop to 7f could sharpen him up, and he’s running again in cheek-pieces, the headgear he’s used in previous good efforts. With a drop in class and conditions that may play to his strengths, he has enough positives to suggest he could go well this evening.
Blue Siam 9/2 - Lightly raced three-year-old who’s still open to plenty of improvement. Her recent 3rd over a longer trip shows she has stamina to finish strongly if the pace is honest. She also drops into a handicap with an easing mark, giving her a more favourable setup this evening.
