Archie Watson sends one runner to the Listed Fred Archer Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday in the form of Outbox.

The eight-year-old won this race two years ago but in truth would be a shock winner this time, having not won since then and finishing a fair way off the leaders this term so far.

A last of 14 finish at Musselburgh has been followed by finishes of fourth in the Group Two Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket and fifth in the Listed Grand Cup Stakes at York last time out.Hollie Doyle is booked to ride the 99-rated runner, but he would be a surprising winner, dismissed.

William Haggas sends one runner to this listed contest at Newmarket in the form of Al Aasy. The six-year-old returns after 14 months off the track, winning the Listed Buckhounds Stakes at Ascot last May by two lengths.

The gelding had been on a little bit of a tough run beforehand, finishing eighth and fourth in grouped contests at Newbury and Ascot before that victory last time out when back down in company.

The six-year-old boasts five wins in his career and goes well fresh. The Sea The Stars gelding looks like he will be one of the leading players in this company and freshness can help him.

Jim Crowley will do the steering.

Charlie Appleby sends two to the Listed Fred Archer Stakes in the form of New London and Kemari.

The latter arrives here at Newmarket on the back of finishing fifth in the Group Three Al Rayyan Stakes at Newbury last time out and second in the Group Two Dubai City Of Gold at Meydan.

The five-year-old won the Group Two Queen’s Vase at Ascot back in June 2021 and has run well in a number of races since but has yet to taste success since that victory.

The five-year-old finished runner-up in this last year but others make more appeal and William Buick prefers New London. James Doyle will be on board.
