Who To Follow On Saturday At Newmarket

The feature race of the day at Newmarket is the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes over a mile and this race shows off some of the best fillies over this distance in the world.

Well established Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor sends two runners to Newmarket on Saturday that are very interesting contenders both being two years of age and have only raced once.

The first is White Moonlight who on her only start just got up late in the day in a Class 3 Kempton Novice event and she looks sure to improve from that and enjoy the extra furlong.

The other runner he has is the unbeaten Raeeb who looked a class act on debut after getting off the mark straight away at the Doncaster St Leger meeting landing a Class 3 contest.

Back in a Class 4 gives him obvious claims but he will be encountering soft ground for the first time which is the only worry but if handling that he should be tough to beat.

The Champion jockey to be, Oisin Murphy will be looking to extend his lead at the top on Saturday before heads over to France for the Arc meeting and he has a strong book of rides on Saturday.

With the already mentioned White Moonlight and Raeeb for Saeed bin Suroor he also has some other big chances that are worth noting down.

In the second race of the day he sits on the favourite for James Tate with Under The Stars who has ran to a good standard in much better races than this but there is just a question of whether he will handle the soft ground.

Last time out he finished a good fourth in the Group Two Rockfel Stakes over seven furlongs at the track and the drop back to six furlongs will help massively making him a big player.

He sits on Veracious in the Sun Chariot Stakes who holds a strong chance but the final horse of interest is Warning Fire in the last race of the day.

This Mark Johnston runner has been running to a fine standard of late and shouldn't mind the softer conditions, she could give a bold showing in a tricky race.
