Who To Follow On Day One Of The Arc Meeting

Horse To Follow - Skalleti

The Qatar Prix Dollar is one of the best races on the Saturday and again we are sticking with the home runners with Skalleti for Jerome Reynier.

Although this race looks to have a class field going to post with Coolmore's Ocean Atlantique and the Joseph O'Brien trained Patrick Sarsfield, our selection should handle the wet conditions the best.

The five year old has been a frequent winner during his career especially on very soft or heavy when taking this race last year, a Group Two in Italy and last time out a Group Three at Deauville.

The gelding saw off a strong challenge from the Arc's third favourite Sottsass that day with his gritty, determined run in the touch ground behind one of our main reasons for fancying him.

Trainer To Follow - Joseph O'Brien

Joseph O'Brien is looking to have a big weekend in France over the next few days and he can start that off on Saturday as he has some superb chances.

One of his most consistent horses of the season is Patrick Sarsfield and he is not without a chance in the Prix Dollar and his Park Hill stakes winner Pista looks to be the pick of the bunch in the Group One Prix de Royallieu.

The young trainer has only had two winners at the track during his career and although not having a winner has a 50% place rate that he will look to build on

Jockey To Follow - Pierre-Charles Boudot

Pierre-Charles Boudot is quickly turning into France's best jockey in the sport, having landed some of the biggest races in the country including the Prix del'Arc de Triomphe last season.

On the first day of the meeting the young rider has a handful of exceptional rides with the pick of them coming in the first race of the day with Mykiss and in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein with The Revenant.

Ahead of the two day meeting at Longchamp the rider has been in exceptional form winning 16 races from his 54 rides which gives him a 29.63% strike rate.
