Who to follow in Britain on Saturday

A classy race on the Ascot card this weekend is the Grade Two Reynoldstown Novices Chase and Nicky Henderson is represented by the exciting Pym.

This seven year old jumped on the racing scene with big expectations going in the same silks as the mighty Altior but in bumpers and in his hurdles career he never quite got to grips with the task at hand.

However, he was always said to be bought as a chaser and he has turned into the horse they thought he would be running three times and having figures of 211.

On his second start of the season he landed a decent Novices Chase over course and distance of this race at Ascot and then backed that up with an even better performance at Cheltenham.

His jumping and staying ability will be put to the test again but for how well he has done this season you can only think more progressing is coming.

Trainer Kelly Morgan has only one runner on the day at Ascot and for that matter at any course in England and she fields the interesting Red Indian who could throw down a bold challenge at a fair price in the Keltbay Swinley Chase.

He has only ran once this season finishing fifth in the Peter Marsh Chase at Haydock and now on a very nice should enter the frame with improvement, also if getting near his novice form of last season he looks a healthy bet.

The final Grade Two on the day for us at Haydock is the Albert Bartlett Prestige Novices Hurdle over three miles and David Noonan takes his only ride of the day on board Ramses De Teillee.

This proven stayer will be heading to the Cheltenham festival in the Grade One Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle and this looks a perfect stepping stone for the eight year old.

The gelding has been better known for his chase exploits during his career having finished second in a Welsh Grand National and also won some nice events.

However, having been sent over hurdles this season again he has took to the task very well winning at Cheltenham in a three mile novices event and then backing that up last time out at Doncaster in the Grade Two Don Novices Hurdle.

David Noonan has a serious chance on his one ride of the day.
