TWE RIDE OF THE WEEK - WEEK THREE

TWE RIDE OF THE WEEK

Last week saw some stand out performances on both the jumps and the flat but we have managed to narrow it down to just one special performance and grant this horse and rider the accolade of TWE Ride Of The Week.

This weeks winner comes from an international look, with the best racing last week coming from France. Britain was fairly quiet on the racing front with the lead up to Royal Ascot meaning many stand out horses are preparing for the summertime showpiece at the Berkshire track.

With that, last week saw some of the worst weather the month of June has ever seen causing many meetings to be abandoned due to waterlogged tracks.

This has lead to some days racing being less than impressive and to be able to find the best rides from the week we have had to look further a field and that is exactly what we have done.

France offered the best racing of the week with the only European Group 1 on offer and the Prix de Diane at Chantilly did not disappoint.

With 16 runners heading post and many stars on show including English raiders Entitle who is a half sister to the superstar Enable the big race at Chantilly was set to be a corker.

However, there could only be one winner and Channel for trainer F-H Graffard went to narrowly land the spoils and claim this weeks TWE Ride OF The Week.

Jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot has really made a name for himself over the years in his home nation winning some superb races but his performance on Sunday showed how established he actually is.

Channel is a nice three year old that had course and distance form but needed to seriously improve from her last run to be involved and she did superbly.

The daughter of Nathaniel went off at 91/10, not being an obvious pick to land the contest beforehand but has now put her name in the hat for other big Group 1 contests in France.

PCB got his three year old to the front and gamely stayed on to clinch the Group 1 contest and also land this weeks TWE Ride OF The Week.
