Today we are looking back at the 2019 renewal of the St Leger with the recently retired Logician landing the event for John Gosden and the late Prince Khalid Abdullah.
The five year old grey was superb in 2019 winning all five of his events with ease, including the Group Two Great Volitgeur at York's Ebor meeting and then finally rounding of the season by landing the Group One Classic event.
Gosden geared him towards this race all the way through the season, and in what looked a superb renewal with Sir Ron Priestley back in second, he went on to take the event by over six lengths.
Unfortunately after that race he was not seen for over a year having suffered a life threatening illness and after that he did not return the same horse.
The superstar grey had a short but successful career and will always be looked back on as a St Leger winner.
