Three Standout Performances – 08/11/2018

13:50 - La Bague Au Roi

La Bague Au Roi made a promising start over fences when landing the KKA-Highpoint Beginners' Chase at Newbury this afternoon.

Lostintranslation made the running under Robbie Power, as the Warren Greatrex 7yo began her challenge 3 from the finish.

Richard Johnson was hard at work as the mare hung badly left, but she soon led between the last 2 fences, and stayed on well for the victory.

14:05 - Rons Dream

Rons Dream landed the listed feature at Market Rasen this afternoon - the 188bet.co.uk Bud Booth Mares' Chase.

The race was left wide open when Drinks Interval - with the race at her mercy, fell 3 from the finish. Casablanca Mix would of expected the race to have been handed to him on a plate, but Rons Dream, under Sean Bowen rallied to the cause, and gamely got up before the finish.

15:10 - L'Es Fremantle

Arguably the shock of the day came at Market Rasen, when L'Es Fremantle - at odds no shorter than 80/1, stormed up the run-in to land an unlikely success for Michael Chapman.

The race looked to have been decided by the Charles Pogson-trained Overtoujay and the Graeme McPherson-saddled Follow The Swallow, but L'Es Fremantle - who had never won a race in 55 attempts, had other ideas, and finally broke his maiden tag as a 7yo.

His big white face motored up the run-in to land a first winner for Michael Chapman in almost two years.
