Raasel

J: William Buick
T: Michael Appleby
N/A
Age: 6
Weight: 9-13
OR: 110
Days: 8

William Buick and Michael Appleby join forces with Raasel this weekend. The six-year-old landed victory in handicap company on his previous start, as he beat Tees Spirit by three-quarters of a length over five furlongs at Haydock.

He could be very interesting again this weekend after finishing third of eleven behind Highfield Princess in the G2 King George Qatar Stakes in August.

Raasel will need to get back to the same level of form as we saw last year, as he landed victories in the Achilles Stakes and G3 Coral Charge over five furlongs.

Kieran O'Neill

Fine Wine

J: Kieran O'Neill
T: Scott Dixon
N/A
Age: 6
Weight: 9-13
OR: 99
Days: 17

Fine Wine will be the ride of Kieran O’Neil this weekend. However, the Scott Dixon-trained runner is in need of a response as he hasn’t won in his previous six starts.

His last victory was scored on the all-weather at Newcastle, as he finished three-quarters of a length clear of Exalted Angel.

However, he does hold wins over Silky Wilkie and Raasel over five furlongs. He was last seen finishing eighth of 13 in the Racing League at Newcastle, while his latest start on the turf saw him finish seventh of ten in the Achilles Stakes at Haydock. This looks like a challenging race to bounce back in, this weekend.

Sam James

Silky Wilkie

J: Sam James
T: K R Burke
N/A
Age: 4
Weight: 9-13
OR: 106
Days: 15

The Karl Burke runner this weekend is Silky Wilkie. The four-year-old has form to find on a number of re-appearing rivals this weekend, but he was close to landing victory over five furlongs in the Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes on his latest effort, finishing half a length behind Kerdos.

However, the soft ground would be a huge concern for the runner this weekend. Sam Jones takes the ride on the four-year-old, who has won five from 23 career starts. He is also without a win in five efforts in stakes company.

Despite being campaigned aggressively over the last 12 months, he has won just twice in 15 starts across the turf and all-weather. This looks like a big ask this weekend.

Rogue Lightning

J: Daniel Tudhope
T: Tom Clover
N/A
Age: 3
Weight: 9-12
OR: 107
Days: 36

Rogue Lightning looks ready for this challenge on Sunday, as the three-year-old has won on each of his previous two starts for Tom Clover since being gelded. The latest of those was an excellent performance over five furlongs at Ascot, as he finished nearly two lengths clear of Intrinsic Bond in the Shergar Cup Dash.

He receives weight from some key contenders this weekend, and that puts him in the frame. Rogue Lightning has won three from six career starts, with all three victories coming in competitive handicaps.

However, the standout piece of form comes in the form of his victory over course and distance to land handicap success by two lengths from Rocket Rodney in early July. Therefore, he could be the most realistic winner this weekend. A victory would be his first on his fourth attempt in stakes company.
