American Jockey Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder

Charles J. (C. J.) McMahon, A Graded winning jockey in America has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after Louisiana Police on Saturday detained the rider.

The 26 year old rider has had an illustrious career on the track in the US, riding 1,046 winners which has earned him close to $22,682,202 in prize-money during his tenor in the sport.

However, for all of his achievements he may now have undone all his good work after he was detained by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office in the state on January 2 and has been charged with attempted murder in the second degree, illegal use of weapons and possession of Schedule 1 drugs.

McMahon is best known in American racing for landing races such as the Texas Mile, Super Derby and Oklahoma Derby in 2016 and a year before that was nationally known as the 11th best rider in the country having ridden over 200 winners.

in 2020 the rider only landed 47 winners and was hoping to do better in the new year, with rides at Sam Houston Park in Texas on Friday and Saturday., but instead he is dealing with different problems.

The ridder will now appear on court on Tuesday with a bail bond of $30,000 being set for the three alleged charges.
