Alpinista

The Sir Mark Prescott trained yardstick Alpinista is set for the Group One Yorkshire Oaks with the mare looking to land a seven timer and show the best of her form in the UK.

The five year old has shown just how smart she can be over the last year so, landing the first of her six race win streak at Goodwood in April in a Listed event and then went to Haydock when taking the Group Two Lancashire Oaks Stakes.

Sent to Germany off the back of those wins she landed a hat-trick at Hoppegarten in the Group One Grosser Preis von Berlin and staying in Germany she made it four in a row with the G1 Preis von Europa.

Sir Mark Prescott went with if its not broken don't fix it and she made it five wins in the trot and a hat-trick in Germany when landing her third straight Group One at Munich.

Put away for the season she returned in France in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and not needing the run she kept her unbeaten run going taking a fourth straight Group One.

She is now going for seven on the bounce and her fifth Group One win of her career in the Yorkshire Oaks at York's Ebor meeting and her trainer will be hoping she can show the best of her form now in England.

"She was great last time and we’ll see her at York when Jessie Harrington and all those people will be trying to stop her winning five Group Ones in a row,” Prescott told Sky Sports Racing.

“She’s fine, I think she was only just there for Saint-Cloud when it all went my way, I was lucky. Whether everything will go my way at York is another thing.

“I think a little bit of the talk about her not being quite ready for it was because I’d said to everybody she hadn’t come in her coat, so it was easy for everyone to say it without fear of contradiction – I’d dug my own grave a bit there!”
