Already spearheading the market for this, Willie Mullins’ charge scored emphatically at this meeting last year to take the Grade 2 bumper in style.

He’s since progressed through his novice hurdle campaign in style and has been an impressive winner on both his starts over timber this term.

Debuting on heavy ground at Cork, he only had to be shaken up to see off the challenge of Master Mcshee, with the two pulling well clear of the remainder.

He duly followed up with a Grade 1 victory in the Future Champions novice hurdle over track and trip.

He easily quickened clear and put the race to bed as the field bypassed the last hurdle. Putting Ballyadam well in his place having the Elliott charge held back in fourth.

Paul Townend has partnered him for all his wins over hurdles so far and he’s likely to get the leg up again on the stable first string.

Already prohibitive odds, the multiple graded winner is already looking a likely sort for the Supreme. He’s going to take some beating here as he continues to set the bar for the 2 mile novice hurdlers.

This 6 year old was purchased off the back of a strong win in an Irish point to point but was disappointing on bumper debut when beaten into 3rd at odds of 1/4.

He atoned for a disappointing debut by bolting up on his next start by 18 lengths. He was put away for the season after that and didn’t make his hurdle debut until the end of October.

The son of Fame and Glory got off to a perfect start over timber bolting up by 12 lengths despite showing a few sticky jumps.

He followed up well following the footsteps of stablemate and owner-mate Envoi Allen to win the Royal Bond Novice Hurdle at short odds of 8/15.

He hit the front 2 out and favourite backers were already rejoicing as he didn’t look like he’d be pegged back once he nosed into the lead.

He was last seen over course and distance behind Appreciate It who firmly appeared to brushed him aside. Weakening from two out, he dropped tamely back into fourth and was beaten a hefty 16 lengths.

There appears to be a lot to find for Elliott’s young hurdler, he was beaten handily by the stronger seven year old Appreciate It, the ground is getting more testing and it's starting to look an insurmountable task for him to reverse the form.

He does however look the best of the rest.

Another French recruit for the double green silks of Isaac Souede and Simon Munir. The pair took their new purchase straight to Willie Mullins where he duly obliged his new connections on the first time of asking.

Entered for a 2 mile maiden he scored a touch snuggly to hold off Julies Stowaway by half a length.
Building on promise shown on debut he stepped up in trip for the Lawlors Of Naas.

The impressive looking Bob Olinger outstayed him in the deep ground but he wasn’t disgraced in 2nd on only his second start over hurdles in Ireland.

Stepping back in trip looks like it will suit more, especially with the ground continually getting deeper and more testing.
His stamina gave out late in the day at Naas but he’ll likely sit handy over two miles and enjoy a stiff end to end gallop.

He’s sitting prominently in the market behind the top two in the betting and certainly has a place chance now moving back down in trip.

Noel Meade brings lightly raced 8 year old Cask Mate here off the back of a heavily interrupted hurdle career.

The gelding started life over hurdles as a 4 year old back in 2017 but clearly had his problems staying fit as he was kept off the track for almost 3 years.

Nursed back to fitness for October last year he got his head in front for the first time as a hurdler to take a maiden event at Limerick.

He quickly followed up with another hurdling success when upped in trip to 2.5 miles at Punchestown.

He easily beat a decent enough yardstick in Dewcup. Held up to get the trip that day he swooped from the rear of the field to take up the running turning in and wasn’t for catching.

Dropping back to two miles for his next run in the Royal Bond he was held behind Ballyadam. He stayed on well but ran out of time to run down the eventual winner.

He’s probably held on that form behind Ballyadam but being ridden a bit more prominently would see him to better effect over two miles.

He’s not without hope and has clearly been sound this term and is building on his previous hurdling experience. If ridden more aggressively on the deep ground he could have an each way chance.

Keri Brion’s six year old has been running over hurdles in his native America before running in a novice event in Clonmel recently.

The youngster performed well on deep ground and acclimatised quickly to new surroundings to finish second on Irish debut.
He has been winning races over in America but it’s hard to assess just how well that form will translate over to Irish racing.

He showed ability at Clonmel and had had plenty of runs over hurdles stateside.

Attached rightly is a large price tag. He’s likely to find many too good for him here. He could take a step forward from debut but he’s probably one that’s best avoided.

Noel Meade
Age: 6

Days: 1

Another runner for Noel Meade, six year old Hes A Hardy Bloke has already notched up three wins in his short career.
A winner of two hurdle races and a bumper, things appear to be clicking into place.

Last seen in a novice hurdle at Cork, the 11/8 favourite comfortably scored despite his penalty for a previous maiden win. The form isn’t astounding but to win another novice race under the penalty shows his ability.

It might pay to bear in mind that despite his hurdling successes he was beaten 30 lengths by Ballyadam on hurdle debut, not form that he looks like reversing.

Winning bumpers on good ground and hurdles on heavy ground, he’s pretty versatile for underfoot conditions but is likely to find a couple too good to be in with a real chance here.

Still improving he’s likely one for handicaps later in the spring.

Representing Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore is six year old Irascible. The point to point recruit made his hurdle debut back in late October and obliged at the first time of asking for his new connections.

In his maiden win he scored at the expense of stablemate Decimation who’s since franked the form to come second and first.

Irascible has since moved into graded company and acquitted himself well in the Grade One future champions novice hurdle over this course and distance, coming second to Appreciate It.

He could only get within nine lengths of the winner but Irascible was pulling further clear of Keskonrisk and Ballyadam.

Maybe not the most attractive in the race, he ran well to chase home Appreciate It here at Christmas. He handles the course, soft ground and has finished ahead of some rivals he faces again here.

Likely to be the mount of Rachael Blackmore and not without hope to hit the frame.

Another runner who took a spot in the future champions novice hurdle here at Christmas, Keskonrisk ran a blinder for Joseph O’Brien and J J Slevin to be third.

Irascible stayed on better than him in the closing stages to steal 2nd but the 6 year old outran his price tag of 16/1 to be placed in the Grade One.

A former bumper winner and maiden hurdle winner, he’s right at home on soft ground. The youngster also showed great battling qualities to get up in the nick of time to seal his first hurdle victory.

A good performance at Christmas stands him in good stead here but he’s very unlikely to be reversing the form with Appreciate It and Irascible.

Not without a chance to hit the frame again he’s a fair each way price to get involved in the minor places again.

Seven year old gelding Master McShee has had a very progressive start to his life as a hurdler. He showed little in his sole bumper run but ran a massive race to be second to Appreciate It on hurdle debut at 50/1.

He quickly followed that success up with a dominant victory in a maiden hurdle at Cork. Skipping clear before the last hurdle and asserting victory for favourite backers.

He’s since followed up again, running in a handicap hurdle over course and distance, he held himself well in open company and made a mockery of a handicap mark of 132.

A course winner who’s in red hot form, it’s well worth connections taking their chance here. He’s a decent enough each way price to play a part and has chased home Appreciate it before.

Although he might not turn the tables on that rival he can certainly put in a creditable run to be involved in the minor placings.

In the famous pink silks of Rich Ricci is N’golo for team Mullins, he’s already had quite a busy novice hurdling campaign and has already run 6 times over hurdles, winning three times.

The French recruit won at the first time of asking in a maiden at Galway in the summer and has been kept on the go since.

The six year old gelding showed plenty of ability winning a Grade 3 hurdle at Navan in early November leaving a poor previous run behind him.

He hasn’t won since but appeared very one paced in running during the Royal Bond behind Ballyadam. As the field began to quicken N’golo didn’t immediately pick up with them but ran on strongly to finish only two lengths behind the winner.

He was last seen in the Future Champions Novice hurdle but ran really flat and came home last of the nine. He fiddled over the last hurdle and weakened quickly.

A cleaner round of jumping and proper end to end two mile gallop could see him perform much better than at Christmas but he has plenty to prove against this level of opposition. That said, it’s never wise to write off one of Mullins’ string.

Yet another runner for team Mullins, Galopin Des Champs was a very disappointing favourite in the Grant Thornton hurdle. The five year old didn’t travel a yard despite going off even money favourite.

He was visibly struggling from the sixth flight and tamely dropped away until jockey Danny Mullins called it a day and pulled up.

The gelding moved over from France following an impressive victory at Auteuil last May. He nearly made the perfect start to life in Ireland when going down half a length second to Sea Ducor in a novice hurdle at Gowran Park.

He’s a big price for this and rightly so being a beaten favourite in both of his starts for new connections. It might be worth noting that Sea Ducor was second to Master McShee in the handicap hurdle that he won at Leopardstown during the Christmas festival.

It gives a collateral line of form to work with and would suggest that Galopin Des Champs has a bit to find to be competitive with Master Mcshee.

One that looks best avoided, he’s really struggled to deliver on the promise he showed in his native France. Until he acclimatises to racing in Ireland he’ll be best watched.

This 5 year old gelding is already a hefty price tag of 100/1 for this. The former flat horse has struggled over hurdles, coming 2nd to Magic Tricks on debut and then finishing at remote fifth over 2.5 miles at Leopardstown in late December.
His time on the level only yielded 2 career wins.

As a 4 year old he posted his best hurdle run coming second in a Grade 3 to eventual Triumph winner Burning Victory, but leaving juvenile company has left him with something to find.

Moving back down in trip to two miles will definitely suit but it’s hard to make a case for this four race maiden having much impact in this deep field.

The aptly named Magic Tricks is a full brother to last year’s Supreme second Abacadabras. Only seen once in bumpers, the five year old got off the mark at the first time of asking over hurdles beating Great Bear decisively at Navan.

He was swiftly moved into graded company to live up to the standard set by his brother, but despite being 11/4 favourite he struggled in a stronger race and finished sixth of the seven runners.

A couple of jumping mistakes put him on the back foot and then being hampered at the last put paid to his chances.

With Ganapathi finishing second that day and around nine lengths ahead of Magic Tricks it would seem he’s got plenty of find to get anywhere near that particular Mullins horse.

The deep ground may not have been to his liking at Punchestown last time out but with the rain continuing to fall over Dublin, it’s likely that conditions will be testing again.

The McManus owned horse has shown ability but it’s concerning how he was blunted by heavy ground, which he’ll likely encounter again on Sunday.

Another one for Mullins! Mr Coldstone was an average two year old on the flat and didn’t go close in any of his three runs on the level.

He then made his debut over timber at Tramore on New Year’s Day and was impressive to beat odds on favourite Not Available.

The two had pulled well clear but Mr Coldstone showed a devastating turn of foot to leave the De Bromhead horse behind easily.

The going was soft to heavy that day and the gelding showed no problems in cutting through the deep ground to power away from the field.

It gives us very little to go on as the form has yet to really be tested. Visually it was a taking performance and he could be one that takes giant steps forward in his progression. Mullins dropping one immediately into a grade 1 after a single run should turn a few heads.

He might not win this but he’s certainly one to watch with a view to handicaps or more races in the Spring.

Finally, another one for…. Mullins. The only mare in the field Hook Up carries the pink silks of Ricci and is already a big 33/1 for this.

She began life as a hurdler in the same Grade 3 race that featured Great Bear which was won by Triumph heroine Burning Victory. She was only beaten into third by four lengths that day but was well put in her place in the Triumph, finishing 11th of the 13.

She handily won her reappearance this season by 12 lengths, it would appear another summer to strengthen up did her the world of good and she handily beat Gars De Sceaux.

She looked to follow up in a mares' hurdle at Fairyhouse over 18.5 furlongs but faded late on over the extended trip on heavy ground. She absolutely belted the last that day which saw the race handed to Royal Kahala.

The two had pulled well clear but the really poor jump let down the favourite.

She’s another that needs noting due to her connections. Mullins’ race planning is normally pretty spot on and she must be showing plenty at home.

But, an official rating of 131 puts her 15lbs out of touch with Appreciate It, factoring in her mares’ allowance.
She’s clearly talented but maybe not that of the calibre of the geldings she’s facing today.
