Ante post bets are bets placed in advance of the event. In horse racing this means that bets placed prior to the overnight declaration stage. A lot of the big races will have ante post betting available, so make sure you keep an eye on our site in the coming weeks! Of course, nearer to the time we will be offering tips for the full card for big race days along with singles, doubles & well paid accas. But Antepost betting can often provide you with some very tasty odds if you have a big fancy a while before the event.

Reasoning behind Antepost betting

The whole concept of Antepost betting sounds extremely plain on the offset but there’s more than enough factors which come into why so many frequent horse racing punters opt to back their horse a distance before the race takes place. It’s often labelled as ‘Future Races’ on most bookmakers and is easily one of the most backed markets in the sport of horse racing.

Odds for specific horses can be significantly higher when backing it well before the race itself happens, so that tends to be the main reason surrounding putting money behind it so early on, which makes perfect sense as anyone putting a bet on looks to the potential returns as one of the most desirable reasons for betting in the first place.
