Our horse to follow on the first day of the Arc meeting at ParisLongchamp is the British raider Trueshan who heads the field for the Group One Prix du Cadran.

The winner of last season’s British Champions’ Long Distance Cup at the end of the campaign firmly put Trueshan in the mix for a go at the staying races this season.

His dominant display over two miles on soft ground at Ascot in October saw him go off second favourite for the Ormonde Stakes at Chester but found the trip and course too taxing for speed to get the better of Japan.

Missing the gold cup due to the underfoot conditions, he instead tried to shoulder top weight in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle, but a rating of 118 left him giving away too much weight to the rest of the field.

Since then he has waited for his perfect conditions and got that in the Group Two Goodwood Cup where he went on to rout a good field of stayers by close to four lengths.

Skipping the Doncaster Cup he heads into this Group One fresh and getting his ideal trip and ground and this season when getting that he has looked unstoppable.

Trainer To Follow - Andre Fabre

The trainer to follow on the first day of the meeting is the Legendary French handler Andre Fabre who very rarely walks away from this meeting without a winner.

In the first race of the day he is set to field Love Child, who's latest second over 14f at the track was very encouraging and going up another furlong could be the making of her.

Other big fancies for the trainer include Victor Ludorum in the Prix Daniel Wildenstein, Joie De Soir in the Prix de Royalliue and Magny Colours in the Prix Dollar.

Fabre heads into the meeting sporting a decent strike rate of 18% having landed five winners from his last 28 runners which sees him.

Jockey To Follow - James Doyle

A man who could be in the winners this weekend at the Arc meeting is the Godolphin second string rider James Doyle, who alongside his rides for his retained owner has managed to pick up some other lovely rides.

The biggest ride of the weekend for the Doyler is the mount on Trueshan with Hollie Doyle missing out due to a ban he has been given the ride.

Godolphin have some potentially nice runners on the Saturday that he could get involved with, and he also has the chance of other nice spares across the day.
