Weekly Eye-Catchers – 13/06/17

At the start of each week we will be providing you with three eye-catching performances from the previous week of racing. Be it a horse that has bolted up, or one which was unlucky not to be first passed the post, we believe over time these will give you a long list of next time out winners.

10/06/17 – Newmarket 14:30 – Parfait

Invincible Spirit (IRE) x Rakiza (IRE)

Recent Form Figures: 351

To kick off this week’s eye-catchers we have the John Gosden trained 3-y-o ‘Parfait’. Following a slow 2016, this filly came on leaps and bounds to go close in class 3 events on return before hosing up at Newmarket this weekend.

The use of first-time cheekpieces seemed to have worked a trick, with this emphatic 7length victory coming in a much hotter event off her highest ever mark. The change of tactics may have also played a part, with Martin Dwyer steering from the front to pick up the £28,000 in prize money.

This Godolphin filly currently holds no future entries, but keep an eye out on our social platforms for any updates.

10/06/17 – Newmarket 16:15 – Lady Freyja

Mayson (UK) x Third Party (UK)

Recent Form Figures: 31

John Ryan’s filly Lady Freyja also really caught the eye at Newmarket this weekend. Having showed very little as a 2-y-o, she went off at 150’s on seasonal debut, where she finished a creditable third behind the potentially smart ‘Hakeem’. This resulted in her being dropped back to 7f for her handicap debut, where she looked very impressive.

Despite being clawed down late on in her previous outing we believe the mile could still be her optimum trip. That run came after a lengthy absence so it can be forgiven, and there was certainly no signs of her stopping as she cantered passed the post.

Given some nice ground we believe this filly could pick up a good prize this season. She currently holds no entries, but as always, we will keep you updated on our social platforms.

10/06/17 – Beverley 14:40 – Cardsharp

Lonhro (AUS) x Pure Illusion (IRE)

Recent Form Figures 1421

Last but not least, we have Mark Johnston’s Cardsharp following his impressive display over at Beverley on Saturday. He has done nothing wrong since his debut back in May, picking up two victories along with two very respectable runs in defeat, one of which came in-behind Ascot bound ‘De Bruyne Horse’.

Cardsharp was very strong in the market that day suggesting he is highly regarded, but he didn’t get things all his way and suffered a 2length defeat. It’s hard to say he would reverse that form, but with progress anticipated he’s definitely one to keep an eye on.

He has no current entries, but we will keep you upated with any changes on our social platforms.
