The first race of the day is the Sky Bet Handicap over 1 mile 4 furlongs and Zabeel Champion for Mark Johnston looks the pick of the bunch.

The three year old has been highly consistent in these sorts of race this term, winning on his second start of the season and backing that up over the same course and distance next time out.

Last time out he finished a bright second at Glorious Goodwood in a very similar event and now getting the step up in trip should improve like Johnston horses normally do.

Another to consider at a massive price in the opener is Toronto.

The same connections targeted this race with a former Aidan O'Brien horse last season (Indianapolis) and this year they have bought Toronto out of the Ballydoyle yard. He has had a prep run at Newmarket and now moves up in trip on his second start.

He is the rank-outsider but their previous recruit from this source turned into a useful handicapper and he gets plenty of weight from most of his rivals.

The first big race of the day is the Group Lonsdale Cup over two miles and this race over the last few year's has been dominated by Stradivarius, but this term will have a new winner.

John Gosden is looking to keep his superb run in the race going and this time with Enbihaar who is taking a step up in trip and is all round a classy mare.

The five year old has been a superstar at 1 mile 6 furlongs winning back to back Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood and also taking the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster.

Although she is going into unchartered territory when it comes to the trip, you have to respect the master trainer John Gosden with him normally getting it spot on.

Another exciting event during the afternoon is the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes for the juveniles and Minzaal for the inform Owen Burrows is hard to look past.

The Hamdan Al Maktoum owned colt looks to be a rising star having made his debut at Ascot in a classy maiden and finishing fourth.

He came on massively for that run and cruised to victory in a Class 5 event at Salisbury, winning by just under four lengths but never coming off the bridle and looked a very impressive run that he will improve on again.

The feature race of the day is the Group One Nunthorpe Stakes and although Battaash looks the clear winner we thin A'Ali is the value each way angle.

The Simon Crisford trained runner has managed to get his season back on track after a poor start to the season to now being a firm contender in the Nunthorpe after some better runs.

As a juvenile the son of Society Rock was a superstar landing a hat-trick of wins in Group Two company which included the before mentioned Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Prix Robert Papin at Deauville and finally the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster.

He finished his two year old career at the Breeders Cup meeting with a tame run and he did not improve on that run on his three year old seasonal debut at Newcastle when obviously needing the run.

The Coral Charge at Sandown showed him back to his best and when sent over to Ireland for the first time he landed another Group Two event.

The Convivial Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs sees a smart field of youngsters head to post and Naval Crown for Charlie Appleby has some serious ability.

The two year old has been seen twice on a racecourse, finishing third both times with the first run coming at Newmarket and last time out in a decent Listed event at Ascot.

The form of that Ascot race has received a huge boost with the fourth that day, Saint Lawrence, since going on to take a Listed event at Newbury.

Leading form claims.

The penultimate race on day three is a Fillies' Handicap and Waliyak for Roger Varian has done everything right but win this season.

She was a bright juvenile finishing second twice and then getting off the mark on her final start at Wolves over the extended mile.

She took that form into 2020 when finishing a solid second on debut in the Sandrigham Stakes at Royal Ascot and when stepped up to 10 furlongs last time out she was a good second again.

Having another go at this trip should see her run a big race again.

The final event of the day is the Sky Bet Mile Stakes over a mile and in this handicap we like the Mark Johnston trained Visinari.

The three year old showed some signs of big ability last term when winning nicely at Newmarket on her debut and then going on to finish third in the Group Two July Stakes.

Again in smart company she finished fourth behind Pinatubo at Goodwood and then again finished fourth behind Molatham.

She is making her first start of the campaign and showed from her debut win that she goes well fresh.
