Who To Follow At Leopardstown On Monday

Horse To Follow - Presenting Percy

The Savills Chase this Monday doesn't look like one of the races of the day, it doesn't look like one of the races of the year, it arguably looks like one of the races of the decade and we've picked out PRESENTING PERCY as our horse to follow on the whole card.

Well, what can we say about Presenting Percy. One of the most popular horses on the circuit, he was a Grade 2 winning hurdler and then a Grade 1 winning chaser after winning the RSA Chase at Cheltenham back in 2018.

He was sent off favourite in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in 2019 but failed to deliver and then after a run of poor performances, he found the winning formula once again on his second start for Gordon Elliott when winning the Listed Boomerang.Ie Chase at Thurles last time out.

IF that is a sign of things to come, he’s the one to beat in this field with a career defining season ahead of him.

Trainer To Follow - Henry de Bromhead

Outside of Mullins and Elliott, de Bromhead is arguably the most established national hunt trainer in Ireland and he has already accumulated over €1m in prize money in Ireland alone so far this season.

The main race of the day is of course the Savills Chase and it's a race flooded by Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott as usual however the one who could hold all the cards in the race is in fact Henry de Bromhead.

He saddles favourite Minella Indo AND Allaho in the race and if someone's going to spoil the Mullins and Elliott party at Leopardstown on Monday, it's likely to be him.

Jockey To Follow - Jack Kennedy

It's set to be a big day for Gordon Elliott and potentially an even bigger day for Jack Kennedy with the youngster picking up some big rides in the main races of the day.

He's set to get the leg up on Fury Road (13:15), Delta Work (14:25) and Floueur (15:00) in the main races of the day including a couple of other rides elsewhere on the card.

The key factor in us taking a liking to Kennedy tomorrow along with the standard of his rides is his record at the course in the past 12 months. From his 25 rides at the course, he's won on eight and placed in five. That's a 32% win rate and a 50% place rate. Not bad hey!
