The feature race of the afternoon at York on day three of the Ebor festival is the Group One Nunthorpe Stakes over 5f and Royal Aclaim could be a superstar.

Seen three times in her career to date making her debut at Newcastle last term as a juvenile she went on to win impressively seeing off the likes of Group One winner Perfect Power, Robasta and Fearby.

Returning as a three year old this term she picked up from where she left off at Bath in a Novice Stakes winning very easily over the 5f and the third and fourth have since come out and franked the form.

Royal Aclaim made the step up into Listed class at York over the Nunthorpe trip and saw off a proven field of sprinters with ease to land the City Of Walls Stakes by an easy two lengths and that has really put her on the map as a sprinter to follow.

She barely got out of third gear and the Tate yard are now very excited about her chances in this event where she is currently the strong favourite.

Trainer To Follow - Charlie Appleby

Charlie Appleby sends a few chances to York on Saturday with one of his best chances of the afternoon coming in the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes over 6f, with Noble Style looking to keep his unbeaten record.

Lazuli is looking to outrun his odds in the Nunthorpe Stakes and has the back form to pick up a place but Appleby will be focusing more on Desert Order in the Maiden, with the two year old looking to get off the mark after some near misses.

In the finale Appleby fields two strong chances in the handicap event with Bay Of Honour and New Kingdom both near the top of the weights looking to dominate.

The Newmarket handler is currently running at a strike rate of 48% for the last two weeks managing 13 winners from his last 28 runners which is remarkable.

Jockey To Follow - Jim Crowley

Jim Crowley has five rides on Friday on the Knavesmire and his first comes in the opening event of the day the Sky Bet Handicap with Mahrajaan looking to get back to winning ways and the market suggests he has a big chance to.

Crowley sits on Reshoun in the Group Two Lonsdale Cup with the handicapper looking to now show it at Group level and then the riders best chance of the day comes in the Gimcrack on board Royal Scotsman seeking back to back wins.

In the penultimate event of the afternoon Crowley rides debutant Racingbreaks Ryder who could be anything and then in the finale System is looking for back to back wins.
