Newbury Through The Card Tips

Following last week’s success we have put together a race-by-race guide for each race at Newbury on Saturday. The Ladbrokes Trophy chase headlines a decent day of racing and we are hoping for another profitable one. We advise using the Ladbrokes through the card offer (Place a bet of £20 on the first race & get a £10 free bet for each race on the card) – CLAIM HERE

Ladbrokes Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (Listed) (Class 1)

Cap Soleil

Fergal O’Brien looks to have a hot prospect in Cap Soleil and we won’t be looking to back against her in the opener. She built up a fine reputation in bumpers last season before hosing up on hurdle debut after over 200 days off track. She should improve for this run and take the slight step up in class in her stride.

Ladbrokes John Francome Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1)

Fountain Windfall

Fountain Windfall was excellent last time out and the step up in trip is sure to unlock further improvement. He was strong in the market before staying on strongly on chase debut and the conditions are set to be identical. Black Corton will have his fans at the top of the market but his recent win came in a 3-runner which seemingly fell apart and we are happy to oppose.

Sir Peter O’sullevan Memorial Handicap Chase (Class 2)

On Tour

On Tour had absolutely no right to win from his position in the race a few weeks back but he just wouldn’t give up. Staying on,  he clawed back ground nicely under the talented 5lb claimber Mitchell Bastyan and somehow finished the race 3lengths clear. He carries a 5lb penalty today but that looks more than manageable in similar conditions.

Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle (Class 2)

Air Horse One

Air Horse one returned with a respectable run at Ascot a few weeks back but better is expected now upped in trip with the cobwebs shaken off. The quality of that race received no knocks with 1st, 2nd & 5th all coming out and winning their next race. This gives him some serious form claims, especially with more to come and usual partner Noel Fehily doing the steering.

Ladbrokes Intermediate Hurdle (Class 1)

Charli Parcs

We are taking a risk on Charlie Parcs in a real tricky looking affair. He comes into this race with everything to prove but Nicky Henderson has never held back on his opinion of the horse and he worked well with Champion Hurdle winner Buveur D’Air here last week. If he puts it all together on seasonal debut we will hopefully see him at his best.

Ladbrokes Trophy Chase (Grade 3 Handicap) (Class 1)

Total Recall

Total Recall features in our ‘horses to follow’ blog and he looks to have a cracking chance in the Ladbrokes Trophy. This race has been the target since hosing up on debut for Willie Mullins and they seem quite sweet on his chances: ”You need loads of stamina to win this race and I think he has that. It looks like it should be perfect racing ground and I hope he’ll run a big race.”

Ladbrokes Handicap Chase (Class 2)

Nico De Boinville was in fine form on Friday and he mounts our selection in the final race of the day. Theinval ran no sort of race at Cheltenham a few weeks back but his seasonal reappearance was encouraging and he looks one of the classier sorts in the race dropping back down in grade.
