17/05/17 – Duke Of York Stakes – York 15:30

Our Selection: Brando 10/3

Recent Form Figures: 131

Kevin Ryan’s 5-y-o colt BRANDO gets our Lucky31 underway in the Duke Of York Stakes on Wednesday. He returned to action with a comfortable Group3 victory at Newmarket in April, which will bring him on as he looks to land a competitive Group2 event on the opening day of the Dante Festival. The forecasted going is set to suit him down to the ground, making 10/3 a price you don’t want to miss!

17/05/17 – Musidora Stakes – York 16:05

Our Selection: Shutter Speed 4/9

Recent Form Figures: 11

SHUTTER SPEED is our pick for the Musidora Stakes. At a short-price of 4/9, it is hard to see the John Gosden trained filly falling short with a real lack of depth in-behind. Following an impressive win in a solid Yarmouth maiden back in October, she was sent to Newbury, where she made light work of a strong rival in Raheen House and subsequent Cheshire Oaks winner Enable. This is some really strong form, and with her being proven from good-to-firm to soft the conditions are unlikely to play a factor.

17/05/17 – Conundrum HR Consulting Handicap – York 16:35

Our Selection: Chessman 10/3

Recent Form Figures: 21

John Gosden has another horse featuring in our York Lucky31 in the 3-y-o colt CHESSMAN. This is a horse we have tracked since his impressive debut at Kempton in November, where he flew from the back to go over 2lengths clear in eye-catching fashion. It was a run brimming with promise, which was then backed up in similar fashion at Newbury back in April, where he was denied by just a neck after being held back by Dettori.

If the charge started earlier that day he would have gone well clear, so with Buick now taking the ride we make him a good bet to make amends.

18/05/17 – Middleton Stakes – York 14:55

Our Selection: Queen’s Trust 5/2

Recent Form Figures: 331

Breeders’ Cup Filly And Mare champion QUEEN’S TRUST is our selection for the Middleton Stakes on Thursday. The Sir Michael Stoute trained 4-y-o is up against a good horse in So Mi Dar, but will again be racing over the trip she has form figures of 21 over, which include her success at the Breeders Cup and a length defeat to the highly-rated Aidan O’Brien filly Minding.

We believe she has by far the pick of the form, and with Ryan Moore booked to take the saddle 5/2 looks a nice price.

18/05/17 – Dante Stakes – York 15:30

Our Selection: Swiss Storm 16/1

Recent Form Figures: 71

Now of Godolphin, SWISS STORM is our outside pick to juice up this Lucky31. He left his debut behind when winning in style at Newbury in September, which obviously caught the eye of Godolphin with him subsequently being snapped up. Trainer David Elsworth has been quite bullish about this 3-y-o, who was well backed in the off season for the guineas, and with Jim Crowley retaining the ride we are willing to take a punt out at a massive 16/1
